The World

The World

The World shows a dancer wrapped in a laurel wreath, surrounded by the four living creatures. It is completion, fulfillment and wholeness: a cycle ends successfully, the goal is reached, and the world opens to you.

Completion: the circle closed, the work fulfilled.

Waite’s keywords (1911): Assured success, recompense, a voyage, a road, emigration, change of place.

Reversed

Reversed, the cycle is not quite closed: delays, an unfinished goal, lack of closure, or shortcuts that leave something undone.

A cycle not quite closed, a last step still untaken.

Waite’s keywords (1911): Inertia, fixity, stagnation, permanence.

In love

Upright Fulfillment in love, a complete relationship; marriage, long-term union.

Reversed A relationship that does not reach its completion; something is missing.

In work

On your path

Upright Unity with the whole, spiritual fulfillment; the journey of the Fool is complete.

Its counsel
