Two of Cups

Two of Cups

A young man and a young woman exchange cups as a pledge, and above them rises the caduceus crowned with a winged lion’s head. It is union, mutual attraction and partnership: two hearts meet as equals.

Two cups raised: attraction, union, a bond of equals.

Waite’s keywords (1911): Love, passion, friendship, affinity, union, concord, sympathy.

Reversed

Reversed, the bond is broken or out of balance: separation, misunderstanding, one gives more than the other, or trust is lost.

A broken bond, an imbalance between two.

Waite’s keywords (1911): Passion.
