♈︎Aries

The Sun in Aries

The Sun is the lasting self, what you are slowly becoming. What Alan Leo wrote of it:

The pioneer. You are made to start things, to lead and to live for an ideal, thinking with the head more than the heart and moving fast. Leo saw something prophetic in this sign. Its shadow is impulse and headstrong haste, so your growth lies in patience.

The colours of this sign: courage, speed and a hunger to be first.

Correspondences

Dates

March 21 – April 19

Element

Fire

Mode

Cardinal

Ruler

Mars

The cardinal mode leads: you are made to start things, to open new seasons.

The dates are approximate: the Sun enters each sign at a slightly different hour every year, so people born on the first or last day should check their chart.

In love

In love, Aries falls fast and wants passion, honesty and a partner who can keep up; boredom kills its feelings sooner than conflict.

At work

At work, Aries needs to lead, to start and to compete; it thrives under pressure and suffers under slow hierarchies.

Counsel

Count to ten before you act, and finish what you begin.

The Moon in Aries

The Moon is the inner child: moods, habits and what you need to feel at home.

Your moods and habits are quick and independent. You are impulsive and enthusiastic, dislike rules and being told what to do, and tend to strike out your own path, often against advice. Leo links this Moon with authority and prominence, and with an important relationship to the mother.

The Ascendant in Aries

The Ascendant, the sign rising in the east at your birth, is the door through which you meet the world.

Frank, open, outspoken and free-handed. You meet life as a pioneer: ambitious, enthusiastic, quick to seize openings and not stopped by failure, keen on learning, debate and being at the front. Leo's caution: impulse and haste shape your path, and you often say more than you mean.

The planets in Aries

Mercury · You think fast and speak first. Your mind loves a debate, decides in a flash and is bored by slow explanations; learn to finish a thought before you leap to the next.

Venus · You love quickly, boldly and openly. You fall in love at first sight, chase what you desire and need a love that stays exciting.

Mars · Mars is at home here: your energy is direct, brave and immediate. You act first, fight openly and recover fast, but patience is not your weapon.

Jupiter · Your luck comes through courage and initiative. You grow by starting things, by being first and by trusting your own fire.

Saturn · Saturn is in its fall: your lesson is patience and self-control. You must learn to act without rushing and to lead without forcing.
